"In Veils, I consider how uncharted a pilgrimage can be. Although routes or destinations may be mapped, a pilgrim’s journey may pass along unknown ways or through unfamiliar places. The materials in these diptych collages were gathered from Scotland and Canada. The subdued colours and translucent layers suggest foggy landscapes and evoke a sense of mystery. These collages invite viewers to contemplate their own journeys and the possibility of sacred encounter."
