"Abiding Vines" Abiding Vines started out as a devotional illustration in a group setting where one bunch of painted grapes and leaves on thick paper was added monthly to focus on each characteristic of the fruit of the Spirit. I completed the piece after I brought it home, adding lively lines and contrasting colours to strengthen the composition and to capture the spiritual essence. It became a meditation about abiding in Jesus, not by striving but by being supernaturally valued and cared for – pruned, shaped, and protected by the Master Vinedresser – for our maximum fruitfulness."
