In connection with our Jul/Aug 2025 cover story
Want to get familiar with the wealth of Canadian hip-hop out there?
Faith Today’s newest cover story in the Jul/Aug issue digs into the ministry of Canadian Christians in the world of hip hop.
Jon Corbin, a teacher, artist and hip-hop head in Nova Scotia, researched and wrote the article for us. And now he's put together a Spotify playlist of Canadian Christian hip-hop tracks for anyone to listen to. Currently he's got 38 tracks there, although he might update it later.
We think you’ll really enjoy this. Let us know. We’d love to hear from you. You can contact us anytime.
We've also created a second playlist that we’d like to invite you to contribute to. More on that below!

Our collaborative playlist and how to contribute to it
Faith Today just published another playlist, this one collaborative, on Spotify. It's called Hip Hop Suggestions From Faith Today Readers.
You don’t need to use Spotify to share your favourite Canadian Christian hip-hop track with us, you can also just send us a message.
If you’re new to adding to a collaborative playlist, here’s how it works using either a free or paid account on Spotify.
- You need to be in the Spotify app not just a browser window. First, find the playlist Hip Hop Suggestions From Faith Today Readers and add it to your library. If you’ve got the playlist showing, click the three dots to the right of the big green play button to find the "Add to library" option. Congratulations, you’re halfway there.
- Now search up your favourite tracks in Spotify’s vast library using the search function, and when you find a favourite then click the three dots on the right of a track listing, select the "Add to playlist" option, and choose Hip Hop Suggestions From Faith Today Readers. That's it!
We look forward to see how this shared list will grow. Let’s restrict ourselves to hip-hop tracks specifically of intersest to Canadian Christians. (We know there’s also a lot of other great Christian music, from opera to heavy metal, that we’ll have to save for another time. We do already have a Faith Today playlist for congregational worship music that you can add to, if that's more your thing.)
Thanks for particpating in Canada’s Christian conversation!
