Three questions for the author of Bitter Truth and the Redemption's Edge trilogy
Congrats on your new novel Bitter Truth. Can you tell us a bit about it?
The Green Dory Inn mysteries are set in a fictional B&B near the town of Lunenburg, N.S. Bitter Truth is book three. It starts with the heroine wanting nothing more to do with danger. But when a friend is nearly killed in a daylight attack, she can’t sit this out. Not when she knows the anger of being a victim. Her faith tells her to leave room for God’s vengeance. Her heart says to retaliate.
You published an earlier trilogy called Redemption’s Edge, right? How have readers responded to those novels?
That series is suspense with an organic faith thread and, you guessed it, redemption. Some readers find the first book too dark while others scoff and tell me it’s tame. Each story features different characters, and I’ve heard from a few readers that the heroines’ struggles with fear or forgiveness have made a difference in real lives. I treasure those comments.
Your website says you took fencing lessons. What’s the story there?
Who doesn’t secretly wish to dance in that fluid choreography of foil and feet? I drove my then-teenaged son to his first lesson and timidly accepted the invitation to join in. For the record, I was a terrible fencer. But it was six weeks of fun and I’d love to try again.
