I was excited today to receive the March/April issue of Faith Today. I had been listening for the thump of the delivery box against my front door for days now, knowing the issue had been coming to life at the printers.
Find out about our special Facebook group and our contest.
You might be surprised when you see the cover, if you haven’t yet. It depicts a delicious breakfast served up with love at the 541 Eatery & Exchange in Hamilton, Ont. The cover story by writer Amy MacLachlan, who also happens to volunteer at 541, is everything you’d want a cover story about food in Canada’s Christian magazine to be: theological and compelling with a strong personal story woven throughout. And there’s even recipes!

But not in the magazine. You can find those in our specially created Facebook group to help church potluck dinners thrive. Come and join us there. Yes, we’re bringing the potluck back…
We are going to hold a webinar on how to do a great food ministry and you are all invited to participate. Lots of churches provide community dinners, but how can we do that better? Join us on Tuesday, March 20 as we speak with experts on this and other food ministry-related topics that are touched on in our cover story. Writer Amy MacLachlan will be there, as well as Jenn Arnold, a founder of 541 Eateryin Hamilton and Kristine O’Brien, minister at Trafalgar Presbyterian in Oakville, Ont.
We’d also like to send your pastor to dinner. If you have the magazine in your hand, turn to page 36 for details. We want to send your hardworking pastor out to dinner, with your help. We need you to nominate him or her by sending us your pastor’s name, and telling us what their ministry means to you by March 31. Nominate your pastor by emailing socialmedia@TheEFC.ca. Even if their name is not chosen we will give them a shout out on social media so they know you were thinking of them.
There are so many other great features in this issue of Faith Today. If you don’t subscribe, we invite you to consider signing up today. There’s never been a better time to engage with Christian journalism in Canada. And we’d love to serve you in this way.
