The Raw Carrot: Creating disability-friendly work

Paris Community Church's creative way to love neighbours is worth copying. Church in Community series episode 106. Premiered 8/12/2024

Paris Community Church in Ontario was the starting location for a soup-making social enterprise that is now ten years old and expanding to new locations. The Raw Carrot started out by hiring local people who faced barriers to typical employment. They cook gourmet soup that is now sold in grocery stores, farmers' markets and other places. Staff have found community, purposeful employment and some extra income (especially needed by anyone trying to get by on the Ontario Disability Support Program).
